"And as the Spirit blew a warm desert breeze, God said, 'I am sending you to Arizona where you will be shaped and challenged by my saints, learn to serve me in new ways, and occasionally fall on your face. Oh, and you'll get a great tan.'" - The Gospel according to Meta

Hi Meta,
Your description of the flag ceremony brought back some recent memories. Mary’s brother, Fred, died a couple of weeks ago and his family arranged for the Marines to provide a grave-side ceremony that included a flag folding, rifle salute, and taps. It was quite moving and I too welled up. We are losing members of the “greatest generation” far too quickly.
On another point, Newsweek magazine has a feature called “My Turn” where regular folks have a page to write about whatever. In this week’s issue (May 28), a woman describes having to cope with her father’s death. She goes into much detail about what she did NOT want to hear people say in order to comfort her. You may what to check it out.
